Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

My husband had severed 1 1/2 years of a 2 year probation sentence in Minnesota before moving back to Texas 5 years ago. He was recently pulled over for speeding & taken in on a warrant they had issued. They currently have a hold with no bond on him. His original charge was a gross misdimeaner DUI. I know they have the right to extradite but are the chances they actually will. Is there a way to pay his fines & probation fees instead?

On a gross misdemeanor, extradition is possible, but not particularly likely since the municipality that charged the offense must pay costs related to the extradition. If he does not do so, ghe can be detained on multiple occasions in the future for the same warrant.

He would be wise, however, to arrange an appearance in Minnesota to take care of the issue. He should consult with an attorney.
