Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

Does the judge have a duty to inform the jury on proffer agreements between the prosecutor and informant, for in exchange for the informants testimony that they will not only seek immunity for their role, also to be proffering a family member (a violent offender) in exchange for their testimony in court? No hidden deals, behind the jury's back? Does that not break the rights of the defendant, if the judge does not inform the jury?

Your post, an hypothetical, does not indicate whether or not the prosecution and, or defense attorneys addressed such a matter.

If your post refers to law in general, much further detail would need to be known in order to state (generally) the principles of law that may be in issue. The hypothetical is broad and vague, and certain wording of the post is ambiguous, i.e., needs clarification & definition.

If you are referencing some particular case, I urge you to confer privately with a well experienced attorney as need be in order to address worries, issues & concerns you have as to what transpired in that case.
