Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
What is the law in Minnesota about sexual relationships between 18 year olds and 17 year olds (boyfriend girlfriend)? Is it considered illegal?

This is a very difficult and complicated question to answer without more information. I would suggest that you start by referencing Minn. Stat. sections 609.34 through 609.349. For example, criminal sexual conduct in the third degree may include a person who engages in sexual penetration with another person when the actor has a significant relationship to the complainant and the complainant was at least 16 but under 18 years of age at the time of the sexual penetration. A person convicted under this statute could potentially face 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine as well as be subject to conditional release and predatory registration. Because the law so complicated in this area and if you have been or anticipate a criminal charge related to your question, I suggest you seek legal counsel immediately. Most lawyers offer a free initial consultation.
