Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
I live in Minnesota, I was charged with Domestic Assualt and my lawyer has negotiated a plea agreement to simple assault with an adjudicated sentence requiring one year of probation. After the one year and the case is dismissed will I be able to posess a firearm?

No. You will be prohibited by Federal Law under the VAWA. You need a continuance for dismissal or an outright dismissal. If the case has little merit or there are other problems with the case, you should never plead one of these out.
