If a person recieves a citation-summons form from a police officer, alleging a violation and requiring the person to call the court to set up a court date within a specified period of time, in my experience the court will not issue a bench warrant, say one day after the period specified. If you've waited past that period, it would make sense to call the court as soon as possible to set up a court date - even if past the specified time period. Perhaps it is not too later to avoid an arrest warrant and jail.
