If a person recieves a citation-summons form from a police officer, alleging a violation and requiring the person to call the court to set up a court date within a specified period of time, in my experience the court will not issue a bench warrant, say one day after the period specified. If you've waited past that period, it would make sense to call the court as soon as possible to set up a court date - even if past the specified time period. Perhaps it is not too later to avoid an arrest warrant and jail.
Generally, the court administrator may call you to schedule that date, If you remain out of contact for an extended period, a warrant may issue.
