If I stole a 75.00 jersey would that be a petty misdeamenor or a misdeamenor?

It would likely be charged as a misdemeanor theft offense which is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $1000 fine.
In most instances, through negotiation a criminal record can be avoided if you have no prior criminal record.
