Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
petty theft charges
My daughter and I are getting harassed by the local cop for a petty theft we did not do. He is leaving messages on my phone stating if I dont give him our prints and he cant eliminate us, he will charge us. We clean at this company once a week, money is missing out of petty cash, of course they think it was us. There are several people with keys to building and had access to building. So Im guilty until I prove otherwise? Can he arrest and book me without any proof?

Re: petty theft charges
You may refuse to provide any information including statements or fingerprints. That is your right and you should exercise it. If he has enough to charge you, you will be charged. At that point you may contest the allegations.
I would suggest politely declining.
