If my car was used in a crime without my knowledge, can police seize it?How long can they keep it?Am I responsible for impound fees during this time?

Re: Police vehicle hold
It would not be at all unusual for the vehicle to be seized. It will be held so long as it is part of an ongoing investigation or so long as it is needed as part of a prosecution. This could take many months.
Ultimately, the state could seek to forfeit your vehicle. That would mean they keep it.
if you wish to seek the return of your vehicle, you may file a Petitoin in court seeking its return. If the state cannot show it is part of an ongoing investigation or that you knowingly allowed it to be used in the commission of a crime, it must be returned.
