Can your probation officer searched a friends vechile in your driveway without permission?

Normally, police can only conduct a lawful search with a search warrant, unless one of the search warrant requirmeent exceptions applies. Sometimes in automobile search cases, the "consent exception," or the "exigency exception" might apply where there is "probable cause." Probationers often have reduced legal rights due to their status as persons convicted of a crime, out of prison on conditions; and often can be legally searched without a warrant on reduced probable cause.
In the end it is difficult to know for sure without having all the facts relating to the case.
