Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
Hi, my question is regarding age of consent and statutary rape laws, I have done my own research on this but I'd like to hear what you LawGuru's have to say on this, and please no judging. I turned 20 in march, and there is this girl I have been seeing, who is 16 and will be 17 as of october. We are 43 months apart. I am asking you about this now because there is the possible concern she may be pregnant and I would like to have a understanding of what legal matters I may be dealing with. She is a great girl, and I am a great guy that truely has both of our best interests in mind. Shes from a rough family, and has pretty much moved in with me the last couple months as well. So hope to hear back from you LawGuru's.
Thanks :)

Unless you are in a position of authority, the age of consent is 16. That does not make it a good idea.
