recanting a statement

i recanted my statement in a criminal assualt case. And the prosecution still wants to continue with the case. Because the alleged abuser had 2 previous felony's for un related crimes. can the prosecuter continue without the witness?

Yes. A prosecution may proceed based on other evidence including statements made to police that fall within an exception to the hearsay rule suuch as an excited utterance. The prosecutor may also subpoena you to court and if the person subpoenaed does not appear, that can be picked up on a warrant to require the appearance.
