"I received a call today saying I violated my probation, but the information that caused this was received in violation of HIPAA. Can this information be used against me?"

Yes. The medical provider may have a problem for unlawfully disseminating the information. However, it does not prevent a probation officer, who is not a law enforcement officer, from using the information for a violation. That is particularly true where the probation officer may require you to provide releases to acquire the information.
