Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

I recieved a stay of judication for a felony charge of controlled substance. I succesfully completed stay three years ago. I have had a background check done from my employer and nothing was found on my criminal record but a minor consumption from a previous year. I have been now asked to take another background check due to my new job and it involving patient contact. Will my previous stay of adjudication for the felony show up on my background study?

If you had a stay of adjudication a background check could reveal you were charged with a crime, but if you completed probation the charged would show dismissed. It is not a conviction. It really depends on the thoroughness the background check.

Yes. It will show up as being charged and then as dismissed once the proationary period has expired. It will be available unless or until you file for an expungement.
