Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
Restitution that Parents would be responsible for if child was convicted
If your child at the age of 17 has pleaded not guilty to a crime but is found guilty through a trial by Judge, and there is a restitution of $3600, would the parents be responsible for this full amount or is there a maximum amount that the parents are required to pay. Would the minor child also be responsible to pay a part?

Re: Restitution that Parents would be responsible for if child was convicted
To my knowledge, parents are not responsible for restitution their child is ordered to pay by the court. The child would be responsible for paying any restitution the child is ordered to pay.
