Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

We are all restricted when it comes to using deadly force in our home (or anywhere), by the criminal laws and the laws of self-defense. However there is one key difference between the use of deadly force in reasonable self-defense inside our home vs elsewhere, in Minnesota. That difference is that we are held to "the duty to retreat" when reasonable, unless we are inside the walls of our home. Whether we rent or own our home makes no difference.
