Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
I have a stay of imposition of my felony conviction. I will be finishing probation early next year 2 years early, thus meaning an early discharge. I got fined 1500 dollars and 120 days in the workhouse, and my lawyer told me that because the fine was more than 1000 dollars and the jail time more than 90 days, the stay of impostion would go to a gross midemeanor? Yet everything I find online says that it will go to a misdemeanor upos successful completion of probation? Please help! Which one will it go to?
