Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

I had another student who is either 17 or 18 threaten to kill me yesterday at school. The teacher was in the class and did nothing to stop this. The student is crazy if you ask me seeing as he threatened me because I would not give him my ipod earbuds to listen to music. Seems like it would be a trivial agruement right? Thats what I thought. I refuse to go back to my school until hes arrested or out of that school permanently. What can I do? I plan on calling the school in the morning as well as the local police department. I reside in MN. I'd like to know the local relevant laws that may apply if you can give them. Thanks in advance!

I would tell the kid to bug off, and let it go.

You can probably call the police and press charges, but only if you are really in fear of being hurt. And once the police are involved no one is happy, you won't like how you are treated by the police. The teacher acted that way because when we were in school this kind of crap happened all the time.

If you are really in fear, then I suggest contacting the police. No one has a right to put you in fear of being hurt.

If this is just a kid acting like a jerk? Let it go.

If you press charges he might be charged with terrorizing or disorderly conduct, or nothing at all.
