Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
Written threat
I received a invoice/statement from a local sod (turf) dealer saying that if I did not pay $74.90 they would inflict personal property damage ''guaranteed''. I paid the bill and have the duplicate to prove this. The check was never cashed. Is it against the law for this person/company to threaten destruction of personal property?

Re: Written threat
Yes. It would be considered unlawful on many different counts including potential criminal action for terroristic threats. Try to record such converstations and turn them over to the police. Without evidence of the content of the call, such matters are exceedingly difficult to prosecute
