Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Minnesota
I was interviewed, hired and have worked for same company for three years, all while wearing earrings, no previous manager had an issue or brought them up. Yet it has been only recently that the company has taking issue with them. Can they terminate my employment after a lengthy, with management well aware that I had them, legally fire me?

Hello. In general, it is illegal to discriminate against someone (a job applicant or an employee) because of that persons race, color, religion, sex, national origin, pregnancy, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.
In general, an employer may establish a dress code which applies to all employees or employees within certain job categories. There are particular sorts of exceptions to this general rule.
I would recommend that you privately address this matter with an attorney who works in the area of employment discrimination. I myself would speak with you in great detail about the situation and would want to view any written documents that pertain to your issues. I suggest you phone several attorneys in choosing which lawyer you want to help you with this issue. Take care.
