Legal Question in DUI Law in Minnesota

seizure of my car

my freind was driving my car and we were stopped by the county police and he was given a 2nd degree DWI. i only received a minor. i was later given a notice of an attempt of seizure of forefit of my car because of my freinds 2 prior convictions of DUI.

my question is does this affect my insurance and license due to the fact that i allowed him to drive my car while intoxicated.

also what are the chances of getting my car back if i were to demand a judicial determination of this matter.

Re: seizure of my car

You need lots more than Law Guru. There may be a possibility of getting your car back, but it depends on the circumstances. If you were in the passenger seat, it might be much harder than if he took your car without your permission.

You say you received a "minor." Is that a minor consumption? That would mean you were under 18. Or did you get an underage drinking ticket? That would mean you're under 21. Minor what?

I can't tell from your question very much about what happened. I'll tell you this, however. The time limit to ask for the judicial review is very short. You better see a lawyer right away.
