Legal Question in DUI Law in Minnesota

I need to know if there are statue of limitations on dui offenses

I got charged with 4 dui's from 1995 to 1997 in MN/KS/MO

Is there a statue of limitations on this.Only 1 dui showed up on my fingerprints and background check.

Re: I need to know if there are statute of limitations on dui offenses

Each state has its own statute of limitations for prosecutions. However, generally these limit the time the government has to file charges against you with the court. Since you write that you were "charged" during those years, presumably shortly after the arrest dates, a statute of limitations defense would probably be of no value to you.

As for background checks, there are many different ways to do them, and different levels of thoroughness. For example, a NCIC record check may not show misdemeanor DWI convictions.

There is a ten year statute of limitations on many of the consequences of DWI in Minnesota, but what you describe falls within that ten years.

I can't speak for the offenses outside Minnesota as to what the statute of limitations may be there.

Count yourself lucky. Those offenses should probably show up. If they don't, I assume that's in your favor. You didn't indicate what the record check was for.
