Settle intestate estate
My nephew commited suicide and my poor sister-in-law is losing her mind with creditors etc from his bills. She cannot afford to be saddled with his bills as she herself is very poor. I am hoping to find out what is the process for her to settle the accounts. Does she need to become a ''personal representative''? She is so broken over the whole thing but creditors are hounding her. She is scared to death that on top of the burial expenses that she will now need to incur legal fees. There is a payment from insurance co that will yield more money than is owed on the truck but may not completely cover overdraft charges and credit card balances. Any advise how she should proceed?

Re: Settle intestate estate
From the facts that you have provided, it sounds like the intestate estate may need to proceed through probate. If you would like to discuss, please contact my office.
