Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Advise on child suport and first born

I am a foreign national with a greencard.I have a long time girlfriend and had a baby sept 11 2002. She is also a foreign national.I had a one night stand a year ago with a girl from minnesota. She became pregnant. We decided to adopt.she did not adopt at the last minute. Her baby was born on sept 3rd 2002.My girlfriend found out via a letter sent to my girlfriends house by the state of minnesota.I had provided a senitive address in a friends house. My girlfriend fled to italy.1)Do i have any recourse in the baby not being adopted? 2)Do i have any recourse in the very non sensitive way i was contacted which resulted in destorying more lives?3)I am freelance and will be on unemployment as soon as my current job ends in feb.4)I would like to adopt the baby in minnesota and go to italy and patch up my relationship.4)because the other baby was first born they are saying she will get even more money.5)Will it make a difference if i get married in italy to my long term girlfriend?

I would need to speak to you in more detail about the adoption issue. Does the mother of the child born in Minnesota still want to keep the child? If the County is sending you documents, it appears as though they are asking for child support, which would normally be greater than the support you would owe for the other younger child (unless you had a court order from Italy which predates the new one the County is seeking in Minnesota). Last, have you had a blood test to make sure the child in Minnesota is really yours???

If you are the biological father of the child you do not have to adopt the child. You only need to get a court order that you are the father. Whether or not you can take the child to Italy would depend on the mother's attitude to such action. It is unlikely that she would agree since she did not follow through with the adoption.
