Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

alimony

My current husband is paying alimony, but has been unemployed for about 18 months. We are finally at the end of our savings and can no longer afford to pay. Is alimony based on my salary or just his? Should we be able to get this reduced until he has an income?

Re: alimony

Spousal Maintenance is based on his income alone. However, to prevail in a motion he must have detailed and accurate records of his job search efforts to demonstrate that he is not underemployed in bad faith.
