Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
the biological father of my minor granddaughter emailed her and told her to call him if she wants to meet him. he is listed on paternity papers and has been paying child support. the parents were unwed. he has made no visitation requests to the mother. can he get in trouble for emailing her without her mother's knowledge or consent?

There is nothing that legally precludes him from contacting his child directly unless there is a court order to that effect.
