Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

My boyfriend has a two-year-old son and he wants to have him half of the time instead of every other weekend. How does he go about doing this?

I am afraid it is not so simple.

Absent an agreement of the parents, if a custody and parenting time order has been entered, the standard for changing custody, even to joint custody, is very high. He must show that the child is "endangered" in his current environment wither physically, developmentally or emotionally and that the benefit of the change outweighs the harm.
