Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

How do I change the judge that is proceeding over my divorce and child custody. He wont even listen to any of my reasons why I should get aleast 50/50 custody of my 2 children. There is a order of protecting against me. All of the accusation of abuse made by my soon to be ex-wife are false. I had a bad lawyer who told me to plead guilty with no findings because of an incident with my oldest son who was 5 years old at the time. Now the Judge has seen that order of protection, and I feel Im not going to get a fair hearing. Please help me. thanks for any advice you can give me.

Thanks,

Very Confused Father

In most cases, you cannot change Judges after they have heard a part of the case unless you file a Motion seeking a dismissal for cause whcih would require some substantial showing of unreasonable bias. Such motions are rarely granted.
