Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Child Support

I filed for Child Support against my sons dad who is on unemployment, they re-opened my case from a few years ago. They started taking money out from his unemployment. I never told him that I was filing Child Support. Do I legally have to tell him that I filed for Child Support and they are taking money from him?

Re: Child Support

It sounds like you requested that the County obtain or enforce a child support order. If so, they probably took care of the notice that was required.

If you filed a motion on your own behalf, you were required to give the father notice, but it is unlikely that the matter would have been heard without proper notice.
