Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Child Support/ Hiding assets

My ex owes over 66,000 in arrears for CS, and I know that he owns a home, but it is in a company's name with my ex's father listed as the tax payer. How would I go about proving this hiding of assets and have a lien put in place to secure my son's future (college)?

My ex is currently underpaying his court ordered amount as well.

There are a variety of ways to collect child support. In this situation, you should consider a lawsuit in which the company and the ex's father are sued, too. You also could cite your ex for contempt of court.

You would have to prove a connection between the company that owns the house and your ex. Does he work for the company? Does he have some ownership in the company? If his father is giving him a place to live, that could be considered income "from any source derived". Does he have any assets or income with which to pay child support? I do these kinds of cases. If you want, you can call me at the office to see if I can help you.
