Re: Child support

The percentages in the guidelines go up to 50% for seven children; but depending on your circumstances there might not really be a limit.

I received a call from a guy recently who was paying child support to three different women, with whom he had produced children. He wanted to know if the fact that his present wife was pregnant could be used to reduce the child support he was paying to the first three. Each of the first three was entitled to 25% of his take home pay for the one child she had, plus help with day care and medical costs. What he had left was almost nothing - in effect they were taking 100% or more of his income.

I did not ask what he was thinking of when he got the fourth one pregnant. I also did not ask why he thought he could be successful in a fourth marriage when he had already failed three times.

Good luck.
