Your child support case worker does not represent you, and does not have any authority to modify your child support obligation. Your only recourse is to bring a motion to modify child support. Your motion will typically be heard by a child support magistrate. You would be well advised to consult with an attorney about how to bring a motion to modify child support, although you can obtain forms from the court administrator's office. I would caution you that the forms are worth about what you pay for them. Yes, they will help you assemble most of the facts necessary to bring a motion to modify child support, but often they are not alone sufficient. The problem is that legal forms suggest the court merely responds to facts, in the way a computer responds to inputs from a keyboard. But the court is not a computer. What matters is whether the facts are assembled into a meaningful argument, and that requires more than filling in the blanks on a form. If you cannot afford a lawyer, you may have no choice but to use the court's forms. In any case, you cannot obtain a modification of child support without bringing a motion.
