how old must a child be to have a say in where they live when there parents are divorced?

There is no set age in Minnesota. It is statesd that the child's opinion can be considered if the court deems to be of suitable age and maturity . Even then, the child never has the final say.
Moreover, to even get to a child's opinion, you must meet the threshhold for a change of custody, In Minnesota, the standard is very high and you must demonstrate that the child is endangered physically, emotionally or developmentally in order to get to that point under most circumstances.
