Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

How do I get clarification on 3 court orders in MN so both parties have a clear understanding of the holidays/visitation schedules. The court orders have a lot of gray areas, I'm not trying to take any time away from the respondent, just looking for clear ongoing schedule so we don't have to go to court every year. We currently do no have a lawyer because she just became a judge, and we cant talk to her anymore. Thanks!

For example: Holidays- memorial states Fri through Sunday instead of Monday, Easter is not clearly defined Easter and spring break are not the same?, Labor day isn't on the court order, so does that mean we don't have to switch that? Holidays take priority over holidays, does that include if its also their regular parenting time for non custodial parents?

Hello. In the event that a court order is ambiguous, sometimes a return to court is needed. However, hopefully matters can be rectified in a much more private and simpler manner. Sometimes people are able to speak directly. Oftentimes mediation is a requirement. Be aware that some attorneys, myself included, are also trained and experienced mediators, and this can be a very helpful skill set if you seek a new attorney to assist you at this time. All the best. Tricia Dwyer Esq., phone 612-296-9666, Tricia Dwyer Esq & Assoc PLLC, dwyerlawfirm.net
