Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

What constitues income?

My exwife pays child support of $80 a month. She has vowed not to work a until the kids turn 18. She has been "working" for a private school as a secretary and from what I understand is getting payed by way of free schooling for her child she had with her present husband. Does this "free schooling" constitute income??

Re: What constitues income?

The compensation she receives in the form of tuition would be considered income. Moreover, the fact that she holds a secretarial position indicates that t she has the ability to work and earn a wage. As a result, the Court may impute income to her based on her skills for the purpose of calculating child support.
