Re: court appearance in minnesota

If you have children, you will need to appear in court at least one time. The only exception is if you each have your own lawyer and a signed Maritial Termination Agreement. If there are no children, then the written agreement in its proper form can be mailed to the court. The court may allow final divorce papers to be faxed in for a Judge to sign, but mailing is the preferred method. Additionally, if you mail in the papers you can include a check for the filing fees at the same time. Contact me if you have any additional questions.
