Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
My cousin was put in jail for making terroristic threats. He has 2 small children that he is leaving behind. They are currently living with their mother. She walked out on them 2 years ago and we are worried it will happen again. There are a few family members willing to adopt the girlslike but does anyone have any legal grounds to fight this and stand a chance at winning?

I am afraid that you do not provide a basis for a third party custody action. To prevail in such an action, it must be demonstrated that he children are endangered by the parent. It must be based on something current and not on what might occur in the future.
