Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

I have had custody of my son from my ex-husband for all of the 13 years he has been alive. I am now having difficulties where I believe my son needs his Father now. I live in MN and he is in Ohio and I want to send him there to be raised until he's 18 and on his own. Do I have to do some kind of leagal action or just give him to his Dad? We have joint custody right now w/ me having sole physical custody.

You may execute a Stipulation and Order to modify physical custody. That would also result in a determination of child support where you may be required to pay the other parent.
