Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

my daughter's gay partner gave her a diamond ring over 2 years ago as a gift to show her commitment to her. They just broke up and the ex partner wants her ring back...since it was a gift does she have the legal right to get it back?

If it was a gift, then no she does not. The property is solely your daughter's to decide what to do with.
