Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Divorce

If my divorce is final and now that my husband who had no attorney during the divorce has the settlement monies for the home which I had to pay him to keep. He now says that he is going to take me back to court giving me no reason why. Is he just blowing smoke or could he get the divorce Marital Termination Agreement overturned if the Judge and the Administrator signed off as of July 25th and I have obtained a certified copy of my divorce? Thanks

Re: Divorce

I am not clear whether your husband has actually refused to pay you money that he was supposed to pay you pursuant to the divorce or whether you paid him the money to keep the house.

Either way, it is very difficult to overturn a stipulated Judgment and Decree. Without knowing his reasons for wanting to go back to court, I cannot tell you if he can establish the basis to reopen the divorce.
