divorce laws in Minnesota

My husband and I are getting an uncontested divorce, can his lawyer serve me with papers by registered mail once the papers are drawn up if I move to Oklahoma?

If you wish to accept service of the papers, your husband's lawyer can send you an Admission (or Acknowledgement) of Service with the papers by regular US mail. You would then sign (and notarize) this document and return it to your husband's attorney. If you do not want to accept service, service must be made personally. Registered mail is not sufficient to accomplish service.

After you've admitted to personal service or been personally served with the Summons and Petition for Dissolution, all other papers may be served on you by mail.

Please consider having an attorney look through the papers before you sign them.
