Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Divorce

I am in the process of a divorce and do not have an attorney. My soon to be ex-husband does. We have already signed the preliminary papers, but do not have our hearing until May 2. Are the papers ''final'' or can I change my mind at the hearing? I signed the papers because I just wanted it done, and I trusted him to do what we agreed upon even though the papers say something different.

Re: Divorce

The answer depends on exactly what you may have signed. If you signed a marital termination agreement, you should file a Motion seeking to recind that agreement and reopen the issues since you did not have the benefit of legal counsel.
