my son is divorcing his wife of 4 yrs. she has big student loans prior to marriage . can he be responsilble for any of that dept?
he has brought a new truck for his bussines recently, will that be a dept together? thanks

If the debts were incured premaritally, he should serve discovery and acquire documentation of that fact. The premarital debt would remain a nonmarital debt. The burden of proving that at trial rests on the person claiming it is premarital, so documentation is critical.
With regard to the truck, that would be calculated into the value of the business.
