Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Eighteen and didn't graduate

Ther is a pretty good chance that my step daughter will not graduate from high school. Her birthday is in March and the school year ends in June. What happens to the child support if she doesn't graduate?? How do we end it all?

As long as the child is pursuing a High School Education through GED courses of some other means, child support continues.

Depends on if she stays in school. If she continues to be a full-time student and becomes essentially a 13th grader, you continue paying child support until she reaches the age of 20 or quits school, whichever comes first.

Good luck. I know this one is like a bad dream. I believe there may be some moms out there who encourage their kids to not graduate so they can continue with the support.
