Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
My ex-husband and I had a court order giving our children to me the first half of the summer and him the second. I needed to switch, got an agreement in writting and now he refuses to return them to me stating the court order gave him the second half of the summer. He has had them all summer long so far and wont return them to me. What can I do?

Hello. I urge you to seek private attorney assistance immediately. If you are in a somewhat remote area, know that any Minnesota licensed attorney may help you. The attorney will want to view the existing court order, and that written agreement, too. This website provides general information and general principles of law and does not provide private legal advice. Some attorneys are available seven days for emergency legal needs. Many attorneys will confer initially at no charge. Then, if legal work is performed, some attorneys will provide a reduced fee for financial hardship. Some attorneys may also assist you in limited scope manner to conserve legal costs. All the best.
