Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

My Ex-husband is trying to force me to have a seperate unshared bedroom for my son that we share 50/50 custody. He is my ex-husbands only child and I have our son who is 9, a 5 yr old daughter, a 1yr old son and another son due in June. My son is with us for 7 days and with his dad for 7days. I just cant see having an empty room 50% of the time, forcing me to get a 4 bedroom that is unaffordable to me being something that the courts would rule in his favor.

Hello. I am sorry to learn that you are having conflict with your former spouse. The issue you describe occurs occasionally. There is no rigid one right answer to the question you pose. The concern is always the best interest of the child. Because you are concerned about possible legal action, court action, I certainly recommend that you confer privately with an attorney experienced in family law and divorce matters. I recommend that you phone several attorneys in choosing because you want to feel comfortable with the attorney and you want to feel a sense of great safety in the attorney-client relationship. If I were to confer with you, we would privately discuss the problem you described in great detail prior to me providing you with specific legal advice. The best to you and your family.
