Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

False Name

When I was married my wifes last name was wrong she thought she was adopted by her step dad and had been using his last name so could this make our marrige null and void in a divorce. There are no adoption papers or birth certificate in that name.

Re: False Name

No. An error in the name would not nullify the marriage if there was an intent to be married. You would still be required to proceed with a divorce.
