family commitment...

Can a father and a sister have a daughter/sister sent in for an evaluation? because she is off her meds and is a danger to herself and others? she is 38. is this an option?

A commitment proceeding is not simple. You must demonstrate that the person in uestion is a danger to herself or others in order for the county to act. They would seek a 72 hour hold in a mental health facility and, if the time is goung to expire, may seek a commitment if they believe the person is a danger.

You should start by contacting local police if you believe she is a danger to herself or others and seek a welfare check.
