can i be suded for half the cost of braces for my child,by my ex? i already pay and am current on child support

Thanks for your question about unreimbursed medical/dental/ortho expenses. All of these fall into the same category.

Most child support orders provide for child support, and also provide for the payment of unreimbursed medical, dental, eyeglass and orthodontia expenses, at least in part. Whether you have an obligation to contribute to orthodontia depends on the specific language of your child support order, but if it includes a rather generic provision for the sharing of medical and dental expenses, then can be ordered to contribute to the ortho expense.

Unreimbursed medical and dental expenses are in addition to other, regular child support. Even if you are current, you can be ordered to contribute to this expense. If your current order does not include a provision for the sharing of such expenses, then the other party can return to court and request such an order.
