Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

My husband and I have been separted for several months and working towards filing for divorce. I will also be opening my own business within the next month (probably before we officially file for the divorce) and would like to know what I need to do to keep him from having any access to my new business or income? Thank you.

All assets in a divorce are presumed marital. That wouldinclude business assets. If a party wishes a different characterization,, it is up to that party to demonstrate in court that the asset was acquired through individual efforts and not marital efforts.
