Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
My husbands ex took him to court in Jan in Anoka County for more child support. We learned however she submitted a false document from the childrens preschool for the amount she was being charged. Which was not acurate, not signed by the teacher and the teacher didnt know or intend on it getting submitted to court. Can she get into legal trouble for submitting false information to court?

Pursuant to MN rules of conduct attorneys here are not to solicit clients absent multiple restrictions. As to the submission of false info' in family court, as to the well experienced family law practitioner, such occurrences happen with regularity. Yes, in certain circumstances and situations there may be negative consequences and negative collateral consequences as to such conduct. In certain circumstances such conduct may precipitate criminal investigation, and even criminal charge or charges. A 'normal' consequence of such conduct in the family court setting is that it generates a sort of global distrust of the veracity and honesty of the person who submitted a false doc' to the court. Also, the attorney for the other, 'innocent', 'clean hands' party likely will seek to take strong and forceful steps aimed at protecting her client & avoiding repeat of same or similar behavior.
